Jakob's greets diners with a heaped counter of fresh and colourful dishes - roasted vegetable medleys, own-made quiches and the likes of poached salmon fillets. Takeaways are popular with Kensington locals looking for an easy dinner, while those venturing further in will find a number of candlelit tables in a room decorated with Armenian knick-knacks, and with a snug terracotta warmth that makes diners feel immediately at home. Meals are chosen at the main counter and then microwaved - any one dish costs £10.50 when combined with two vegetable sides. The house red from a limited wine list was delicious (if rather expensive at £4 for a small glass) and service was friendly without being fawning.

Ate here recently, but didn't find it particularly good value for money, definitely not a what Iød call a cheap eat. Food was average.
Please update your review of this cafe, where the freshly made Middle Eastern/Central European food is consistently of the highest quality, the service warm and welcoming, and the queue at lunch hour snakes out the door as those in the know wait for plates heaving with flavorful healthy fare. Jakob's has been a family favorite for over a decade now and while long superb, it keeps getting better and better.
this is a very OLD review! jakob's is very stylish & high in atmosphere & unusually healthy & thoughtful salads & mains. the takeaway is much cheaper but it is pleasant to eat there, good service & lovely staff make it worthwhile.
