Victoria's hungry backpackers, confused tourists and time-poor commuters would be more than happy to discover a café like this in their midst. Hidden on quiet Eccleston Street, Jenny Lo's could easily be dismissed as just another too-arty-for-its-own-good boutique gallery - its loud, colourfully painted window obscures the workings of the busy eaterie within. A mainly Chinese menu included some surprises, such as Vietnamese cold noodles and seafood laksa; the latter was rich with coconut milk and contained generous amounts of prawns, squid and mussels, but lacked depth of flavour. Better was a satisfying one-plate meal of slow-cooked belly pork on rice. A warm, welcoming atmosphere prevails, and service is just the right side of attentive. A worthwhile find.
