Business-people of limited height will love the manly, no-nonsense interior of this long-standing Korean/Japanese restaurant: the black and dark wood furnishings are broken by one lone silk painting that does its best to lighten the austere decor. Taller folk will curse the tabletop grill base against which their knees will keep cracking.
The mixed clientele, including several Korean diners, happily tucked into well-presented, generous portions of staples such as hotpots and kimchi, samgyeopsal (pork belly) and bulgogi - or making use of those cursed barbecue grills.
Stir-fried squid in a sweet chilli sauce was succulent and not too sugary, its flavours dense and complex. However, tolsot bibimbap came with partially cooked beef and a fried egg, when we'd been expecting both key ingredients to be raw in a dish that's really not so hard to get right.
The great-value lunch menu, which also includes miso soup, came with a mixed bag of side dishes: enjoyably fresh pickles and less enjoyable seaweed jelly. On the whole, though, Nara is an ideal place to come if you want something fairly upmarket, without the accompanying price tag. Just don't forget your kneepads.

Babies and children admitted, Takeaway servicedisagree with the review, this is a nothing fancy but great little restaurant for Korean food. A Korean friend introduced me and ordered the oh-sam bulgogi, korean pancakes, really worth dropping in and very handy for those days out shopping in west end
Good Value and large portions , if your hungry go for a set meal then you'll get 3 courses for £7.50 for lunch and I think £8.50 at night, if you can get in.
Not the best Korean food around but good tasty hot chillies garlic style sauces in abundance. Can be expensive if you have barbecue though.
I ordered sticky spare ribs and only one rib came up, it was a very large bone with about 3mm of meat on either sides, accompanied by a skirt of beef which wasnt sticky or even marinated.. and since this is mainly a "BBQ" place, expect them to WAY overcook it, to make it all charred. there were three small flies constantly buzzing around me whilst trying to eat. recommended to me was the cinnamon punch, which tasted like synthetic altoid mints.. and rice was served _cold_ in a tiny stainless steel bowl.
the staff spoke in a patronising tone, when i ordered the bbq chicken, i was constantly asked in an overly babyish tone "you like chicken??!" which was quite embarrassing. lol
ps: that was way overcooked too, they seem to have an obsession with burning everything
