Busy, good value and no frills, the Roxy - as locals still know it - is the perfect venue for the assertive flavours of Punjabi cooking. The hectic takeaway section opens into an energetic dining room with little adornment. It's almost always packed with Southall families and groups, as well as curry fans from further afield, drawn by some of London's most authentic North Indian food.
Eating here is a thrilling experience; the menu offers little help to the uninitiated, and lurid pictures of dishes above the takeaway counter do little to encourage orders either. But almost everything is brilliant, especially the Punjabi specialities. 'Boneless chicken curry' sounds basic, but provides a fine introduction to the lively masalas from this northern region. Dal makhani (served weekends only) is a deep, rich dish of slow-cooked black lentils with the typically Punjabi addition of cream and butter. And kadhi, originally a Gujarati dish but popular here too, is gently spiced yoghurt and balls of fried gram flour.
We've found the grills more restrained in flavour than in some of the Whitechapel Punjabi venues, but that's a minor complaint. This is an all-round winner.

Facilities
Babies and children welcome ( high chairs ), Separate room for parties ( seats 60 ), Disabled ( toilet ), Takeaway service, Vegetarian menuWe went here for mothers day and it is the worst place possbile, not sure on the food hyigiene at all. All the people were complaining many having to get up and ask for things at the counter. Very rude staff and owners! This place was considered to be good ONCE, not any more. I would spend my money elsewhere there are better places!
Worst restaurant ive been to, service was appaling, we gt the wrong food delivered, the plates were dirty, the glasses were cheap plastic cups. It was busy but thats no excuse for poor service and manners, the manager refused to accept my complaint even when others also complained. Apalling.
You can usually tell if a place is good by how many of their own go there to eat...!!!
Well the place is always full of indians - we've been dining at Roxy since we first came to the uk in1966 and now we are at our third generation of the family dining there.
Delicious non pretentious food, and no doubt generation 4 will be arriving soon.
Greadt food, service was decent could be improved but understandable as they are always busy. Haven't found a restaurant yet that beats the amazing food.
Fantastic! Amazing food, great friendly service. We've heard so much about this place and finally decided to try it with a group of friends and we were not disappointed. I they problem I had was that I was unable to try the deserts.. only because I was stuffed from the starters and mains!! Proper home cooked authentic Punjabi food! No wonder this place has lasted the test of time. 5 STARS!
