Secreted in an atmospheric Mayfair mews, Rocket feels like it should have an 'in the know' vibe - but judging by our Saturday evening visit, plenty of people are in the know. The ground-floor bar bustles, and caters for the post-shopping/post-work crowds; upstairs is an uncluttered and bright space dominated by a floor-to-ceiling wine display (there's a good selection by the glass).
Food is largely of the pizza/pasta variety, although it is far too molested by international influences to be called Italian. Some of the dishes work well. The thin, crispy pizza bases feature interesting toppings; a starter of serrano ham, broad beans and manchego with almonds was bright and fresh. We ordered a 'rare beef and chip salad with rocket, deep-fried green beans, radish and crispy garlic with gingered black bean dressing and a ginger mayonnaise' to find out whether such a collection of ingredients could be wrestled into a coherent whole. They couldn't.

Facilities
Tables outdoors ( 7, pavement ), Babies and children welcome ( high chairs ), Booking advisable, Separate rooms for parties ( seating 10 and 26 )Set in a great location this place serves up distinctly average to below par Italian food. Pizzas lack flavour and definitely don’t match their description a spicy Italian sausage was more like you’re regular banger and definitely not what I ordered. Salads are strange and their mixture of ingredients don’t mix well especially when certain ingredients like pickled cucumbers are served hot.
Saying their the treacle pudding was wonderful this alone deserved a star.
Don’t bother coming here unless your desperate, go to pizza express around the corner, at least they are consistent and food has some flavour.
