You have to admire the sheer boldness of Richard Bigg's Camino. The huge site comprises bar, lounge, casual and formal dining areas, outdoor tables, plus the Time Out award-winning sherry specialist Bar Pepito across the courtyard, all tucked away inside an office development opposite King's Cross station.

The ornate, metal-topped, multi-room bar counter alone must have cost a stylish penny; indeed, it's all smartly appointed, if built to withstand a cavalier post-work crowd. The set-up has thrived, with a branch opening recently in the arguably easier Docklands location of Westferry Circus. Camino might not fit your ideal of a romantic little tapas bar in Seville, but Spanish staff underline the authenticity of the food and drink on offer, and the cooking is rather good.

From a list of brunch specials, we enjoyed Cornish sardines with garlic, chilli and tomato sofrito, plus a punchy salad of tomatoes, pickled fennel, red onions and an anchovy and orange dressing. But it was the parrillada mixta to share, featuring perfectly cooked ribeye, Ibérico pork shoulder, chorizo, chicken romesco and morcilla, that really wowed. Ice-creams with pedro ximénez, and tarta de santiago?(Galician almond tart) outclassed an overcooked chocolate pudding when it came to dessert.

The wine list is great fun to explore, our bottle of Quinta el Refugio a delightful way to spend £23.50.

I went to this place for lunch and to recommend it to my work colleagues as a place to go for business meetings. It turned into a complete nightmare and I now understand why they take your money upfront. One meal arrived and the second one arrived 30 minutes later, totally wrong order! When I tried to complain, the staff were not interested as they were too busy having a staff meeting. I don’t think the meeting was about service or how not to be rude! Would not go back again, Camino you really need to sort yourselves out you bring shame to the Spanish name!

Great tapas, fun place for a night out and wonderful food, I'm Spanish and I can tell this place did very well.

Really bad.The quality of the food is awful, really shocking that they define themselves as Spanish (I am Spanish myself) The staff was SO rude. The place is just in a mess.
Drinks overpriced. It is a shame that are places like this.

I've been to this bar/restaurant quite a few times as a local and although initially I did love it, I feel its standards have really slipped recently. Although it is still a great place to meet friends for drinks, the food isn't so great and seems overpriced for what is now served.

I don't think that TimeOut's rating does this place justice... bearing in mind it is located slap bang in the middle of Kings Cross this place offers a real experience of being anywhere but. When I ate there (after a couple of 2-4-1 cocktails at Bar@1 up the road) the staff were very attentive and happy to make recommendations. We ordered a bottle of white Rioja and enjoyed one of the mixed platters. Afterwards it was rude not to indulge in a jug of sangria in the courtyard outside. As a central meeting point I think this place is excellent, it's easy to stagger to the tube with a red-cheeked cheer and a nicely full belly - deffo recommend for a school night rendezvous. 4.5 stars for Camino!

I recently went for an impromtu lunch at Camino kings cross, we ordered a selection of tapas, all of which were beautifully presented and tasted great. I was especially impressed with the pulpo on olive oil mash (I spent a year in Spain and can honestly say it was the best pulpo I have tried outside of Spain!) i went with the Alambra reserve great to see on the menu, if not a little bit overpriced. The staff were very attentive at the bar. It definitely has a great Spanish feel about it, there is no doubt i will definitely be going back in the future.

Once again I had a great time at Camino. The NYE party was brilliant. I had dinner at the Restaurant with a group of friends then I moved to the bar. Such fun and good time. People were happy and dancing. Thanks for the whole team.

I was staying in a hostel nearby and came across with this lovely spot. A couple of friends and I had a brilliant breakfast really filling compound by fried eggs, sausage, green peppers and some veg. Nice fresh squeezed orange juice!! I loved to coffee too, drink I am really demanding with. A tip:Look for the short blond hair lady! She's the expert. I'll be definitely coming back for breakfast. Wondering how is it the rest of the day.

Five of us spent NYE at Camino, Kings Cross. Firstly we had dinner at the restaurant which was delicious, 4 courses set menu, maybe too much food for who wanted dance after... We move to the bar around 1, the music and vibe were great, staff was amazing friendly and seem to be having a good time too, what made our experience more enjoyable. Not really cheap, but worth every penny. Definitely coming back!

I have eaten in many Spanish restaurants in London, and as Spanish I must say Camino it really make you feel like in Spain, really good food ( the steaks and the pork are impressive), the service is relaxed but very friendly. Great place for a good night out.

poor service but good food...
Tonight (Tuesday) in November, we`ve had a nice meal. we were hungry and had a meat platter...and a bottle of nice wine (Mencia, Petalos, if you go there, is lovely).. the waiter wasn't too interested, and forgot our water, and took his time, but it happens....the food was good, but after the main the service went downhill noticeably..it was as if they wanted us, and everyone else there, out...
We ordered digestifs, and I asked for ice with my Licor 43. After a roll of the eyes and tutting it arrived. We asked for the bill, and literally ´2 mins after paying, the waitress came over and asked us 'helllo, we would like you to leave now'... at 11:15pm, this was a very very unprofessional way to ask customers to leave, and left us feeling like we'd done something wrong. Very embarrassing indeed, and despite good but expensive food, Camino is not somewhere I'll be returníng to, as it seems to be believing the hype too much in the bar and trying to be cool, while neglecting service both in the bar and restaurant. A service charge of £11 service for 2 of us certainly felt like robbery! A real pity from somewhere I'd like to like but has now annoyed me a lot.

This is the most dreadful restaurant experience I have had in a long time. Went for lunch today. The service was indifferent, rude, and slow. We ordered a mixed tapa plate at the bar and waited 35 minutes for it to arrive. Had we had not already paid we would have left. We went to the bar to ask for plates and the 'server' just handed them to us without a word or a smile. The food was very bland - I have eaten better croquetas in my local pub.
I will never go back to this over hyped and over priced place.

There were 14 of us, paid £20 per head, and barely had a small plate of food each.

Had a disappointing experience at Camino at the weekend - arrived at 7:15 for our 7:30 booking, told the front of house staff we had arrived and were going to Pepito for a drink first and was told that was fine. Arrived back at the restaurant at 7:35 to be told that we were late and the table had been given to someone else! We were kept waiting for an hour before we were eventually seated in the bar rather than the restaurant, with no apology, no offer of free drinks or anything like that, despite the restuarnt acknowledging that they were at fault. Because we were in the bar, service was appalling and we had to stand up to order food, second bottle of wine etc. When the bill finally came and we asked for the service charge to be deducted, the person taking payment (who had not served us all night) swore at us - totally disgusting, and when we mentioned this to the manager, she didn't seem to care. The food was OK and the wine list good, but the abysmal service totally ruined what should have been a great Saturday night and I won't be going back.

Nice bar, but the official site for the bar gives the wrong post code (9DF instead of 9FD), which means you get lost trying to find the place, and end up at some Islamic hall of residence on Collier Street.
