The solitary table outside this small Moroccan restaurant does little to belie the exotic haven that awaits inside. It feels like entering an authentic Moroccan bazaar: a romantic clutter of trinkets (instruments, oil paintings and bellows) dim illumination from ornate lanterns, and the sweet, slow waft of incense in the air.

Tagines, skewered meat dishes and stews are served with exceptionally fluffy couscous, rice or flatbread by staff who are more than willing to help you through the menu. Milk and fruit combos feature alongside an unremarkable selection of alcoholic beverages.

Although the main course prices do seem a bit steep for a 'budget' restaurant, the cous cous with lamb stew turned out to be enormous - the four separate bowls of melt-off-the-bone meat, wholesome root veg, sticky stewed chickpeas and fluffy cous cous clearly intended to be shared. It was more than enough for two, and reminded us of real home-cooked food in the Atlas mountains - better than many restaurants in Marrakech. The mezza wasn't amazing, but we can't wait to go back and try the tagine...

Excellent food, the harira soup was so good I went home and made some of my own. I ate the fish tagine with cous cous which was amazing and my girlfriend had the a traditional Morrocan tagine with chicken and the meat just feel off the bone and was delicious. I would definitely go again. However, I don't think it should be rated as a cheap restaurant, I think it is more deserving of 2 £ symbols as we only had one starter, two mains and two soft drinks which came to just under £50. But don't let that put you off.

service was SO slow that my daugher fell asleep on the table! after more than 1,5 hours where just a starter was served, we decided to leave being extremely upset as the waiter promised that our order would not delay, and kept saying "it is coming next minute". they still charged for the starter, the tea and 12,5% service charge! DO YOU EXPECT CLIENTS TO EVER COME BACK? no matter how good the food may have been.... shame for the service. simply unaccetable.

Nothing special, really. We waited an hour for our appetizers, and then another 20 mins for the main course. The food is OK, but the service is poor. I won't be going back.
