To get the best out of Mimino, come on a cooler day with a merry group of friends, as the dark basement dining room, with no natural light, is hardly enticing even with its atmospheric paintings and plush furniture. On a recent visit, several large parties in a room with poor acoustics made for a taut experience. The usual bounteous portions were lacking too, though the distinctive Georgian spicing was still evident.
Dishes containing walnuts (a proud mainstay of the cuisine) scored highest, such as the delicious steamed pkhali of leek and walnuts, and succulent rolls of aubergine with walnut sauce, sprinkled with pomegranate seeds. Unfortunately, the normally popular lobio, a starter of red kidney beans with herbs, lacked flavour. Also underwhelming was the lamb shashlik (kebab) - generally a prized part of every Georgian male's culinary repertoire - though the dish was saved by tangy plum sauce and lovely crunchy pickled cabbage.
The wisest option is to choose simple food (say, khachapuri bread made with freshly rolled dough and melting cheese) and accompany it with nectar-like Georgian red wine.

Facilities
Babies and children welcome ( high chairs ), Booking advisable ( weekends ), Available for hire, Takeaway serviceCome to "Mimino"! Where can you find waiters who can not even tell what meat they brought on the plate (cold!) to a customer - lamb or pork and in attempt to identify it start sniffing it on the plate, where can you find waiters who start arguing with you instead of the changing erroneously ordered dish and then start crying that the amount will be deducted from their wages, so dish will have to be paid for anyway? All these and a lot more you can find In the Georgian restaurant "Mimino", in the heart Kensington! You don't have to undertake a time travel to be transported back to the USSR with all the glory of its customer service! If you wish to experience a rude and woefully inefficient manager, who laughs in your face when you politely point out the inefficiencies of his establishment, come to "Mimino" and look no further! Georgian restaurant "Mimino" in the heart of Kensington is your perfect place for a completely disastrous eating experience!
Agree with previous comment on unprofessionalism of the owner. Also Mimino got significantly worse compared to few years ago. The owner somehow thinks that he can remain profitable by strict cost control through dropping the quality of food and maintaining minimum number of staff (only 3 people trying to serve 50+ guests last Fri), which results in non-existant service. Will never go to Mimino again
We has a horrible experience at this place last time we were there!!!! It was our second time there, and the place has nice food without a doubt, but the owner is extremely unprofessional!!!!!!!!!! It was by far the worst restaurant I have ever visited in my life. We have booked a place, and , unfortunately , some of the people did not show up at the last moment due to the circumstances beyond our and their control, the reaction of owner was ourageous. He have generally threatened us , talked in extremely rude manner, and threatened to charge us couple of hundred pounds more because we were suppose to spend more!!!!!! Exretremely unprofessional. Was extremely disrespectful towards the othere clients at the table , was reluctunt to speak with them in English. Without a doubt this restaurant have now gained a horrible reputation among LSE students. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone because the owner is guided by primitive customer service ethiquete.
