Breton chef Pascal Proyart is serious about seafood. It's a shame that the decor at the hotel restaurant in which he presides lacks character, warmth and intimacy. On our Sunday lunch visit, the spacious dining area was sparsely occupied by a few mature diners and a solitary young family: a pity, as the cooking, which draws upon a roll-call of global influences, is exemplary.
Although à la carte options are seriously expensive, the set lunches are exceptionally good value. Farmed tilapia (from Yorkshire), filleted and steamed to juicy sweetness - surrounded by a gingery coconut broth with crunchy, flash-fried water chestnuts and sesame-crusted mussels - made a marvellously light start to a series of taster plates. We also loved the more robustly flavoured mackerel bruschetta, steeped in red pepper juiciness and scented with saffron.
The carte contains a few meat dishes, but One-O-One is unashamedly a fish and seafood destination. Desserts are as indulgent as they are tasty; warm brownies, accompanied by coffee mousse and salted caramel ice-cream, and sabayon-coated berries with sorbet, are two excellent choices that rounded off a fabulous meal.

Babies and children welcome ( high chairs ), Booking advisable ( Thur-Sun ), Separate room for parties ( seats 10 ), Available for hire, Disabled ( toilet ), Dress ( smart casual )Had dinner at one o one. Food was great and you can really tell the chef is a "michelin level" in terms of quality and creativity but the service was not good. It was slow and not up to the mark. At some point there were no waiters serving the clients and they even forgot to bring me the wine I ordered. I hope they will improve.
Had lunch with some friends here. Food was of outstanding quality. We went for a la carte dishes taking advantage of the discount. The four of us had different fish dishes and all of them were fantastic. Desserts were also impressive. Service was very attentive, too. Bill came to ~£140 for 4 people. Extremely good value for one of my best restaurant experiences in London, especially if you think that last weekend we paid almost £35 per head for a very average curry...
Had a nice lunch here today. The 'petits plats' are actually reasonably substantial. Some nice flowers on the tables would jolly the room up no end (though it is by no means disagreable as it is) .
