The word means waterfall in Turkish, hence the images of running water (including an incongruous Native American scene) and the real fountain trickling away inside the caff-like premises. Outside are pavement tables. A lit-up menu above the counter at the front gives the impression of a takeaway. The lighting and tangerine-coloured walls don't encourage lingering at the rear tables either, although the speed of service doesn't make eating in a fast-food option. Starters, including the strikingly pink tarama and unmemorable houmous, weren't much to write home about, despite the decorative squiggles of balsamic. Main courses range from stews kept hot at the front, through grills, to various pide. Lahmacun would have been a better bet than a mixed pide with lamb and cheese, which wasn't a match for the identically priced large kebab (fairly chewy sis) or the pair of pink-hued red-pepper-speckled beyti on rice. Spicy-hot, finely chopped tomato salad and smoky bread were the highlights. Tea comes in pretty glasses, wine in two colours - red or white.
