This popular establishment was formerly known as Café on the Hill, but having joined forces with the neighbouring Feast Delicatessen, it has adjusted its name accordingly. A transitional phase had visitors that wanted cake having to trot next door to the deli to choose; thankfully, the café now has a small selection of its own on display (although you'll be hard-pressed to fit one in if you're having a main meal).

It's the all-day breakfasts that are Feast's main event, with full english, vegetarian and free-range eggs benedict among the many options. A short lunch menu, served from 11am to 4pm, offers paninis, salads and a few heartier platefuls like beef lasagne or steak-frites. Dishes sound simple, but are cooked with loving attention to detail. Lasagne was set deep within a tomato sauce tangy with fresh herbs.

With its low-key decor (all dark-wood floors, plain wood furniture and white walls), friendly service and reliably good food, Feast on the Hill is always busy and popular with all age groups. If you love the cooking, head next door for takeaway traiteur-style dishes to enjoy on weary week-nights.

Went for 7.95 lunch special. Awesome food, excellent portions and nice atmosphere.

Deli was lovely, staff were fantastic considering how busy the place can be! Fresh bread and food each day and the best bagels ever. People should be more accepting of new staff, you wouldn't write a review about a learner driver. Keep up the good work

There wasn't enough foam on my capuccino!
Only joking. From earlier reviews, I expected to be told loudly not to expect much. ... But my eggs benedict w salmon was fine - eggs perfectly poached; friend's Full English was tasty and a large portion. Service was uniformly efficient and courteous, even including laughing at a pepper grinder gag. Place pleasant: bustle-y and just full.

To the comment below - I know what you mean! I understand staff need time to adapt but the newest staff have gotten my orders wrong twice! And just seemed aggravated when I pointed it out, not even sorry. Talks too much and too loudly which makes for poor customer service. And my latte had excessive foam. Maybe it's time for me to find a new delicatessen?

Terrible in every sense of the word. Only surviving due to the low standards of the Muswell Hill drones.

Good food-but very overpriced- sloppy service, servers more interested in chatting at the counter than attending to clients-often forgetting to bring drinks and getting orders confused.
As of summer 2011 they stopped taking credit and debit cards with the very high prices they are over pushing their luck hoping for cash from everyone.

Good reasonable priced food. Have visited twice for evening meals in last six months. The haddock is great and steak also very good. Friendly attentive service. If you are looking for a break from the identikit italian chains which infest Muswell Hill, I recommend that you try feast.

Over priced, idiotic, untrained staff who dont care about the customers or the business. The owner needs to wake up or sell up. After yet another bought of stupidity from the Deli staff I will not be spending another penny towards the wages of the dense.

we ate in this restaurant for the first time this morning. We ordered their overpriced poached eggs and an omelette and a french toast. When I was ordering the French the waiter asked me if I wanted it with maple syrup or honey and I said syrup. the y brought us the eggs and the omelette and we finished them and the French toast hadn't arrived, I called a waitress and told her that, she went back and came five minutes later to tell me that I hadn't ordered a french toast and I got all I ordered. I mentioned that the other waiter had specifically asked me if I wanted it with honey or syrup , but she insisted that I hadn't ordered it, instead of apologizing or getting me one. I asked for the bill and she brought the bill and showed me the paper again and said: "see, that's what you ordered". my, she was very rude. At last the first waiter came to the table and whispered to us that he had actually made a mistake. I mean how difficult can it be to apologize or at least bring the food that we ordered? horrible horrible service and very over-priced food

I often order fruit salad with meusli and yoghurt when out for breakfast. Normally I receive a good helping of all but here the fruit salad on this beautiful summer day was made up of grapes, kiwi, melon and pineapple, where were all the summer fruits and berries. To top this off there was a "sprinkling" of muesli and thin layer of yoghurt. I asked if it was possible to get a little more meusli and yoghurt to help finish of the fruit but was told frankly that if I wanted more I'd need to pay for another portion. I didn't want ask or need another portion, just a little more. The manager was no more help telling me that everything costs and I would need to pay. We won't be going back there again. Coffee wasn't that good either.
