Previous visits to this Soho mega restaurant have been disappointing and our last was no different: screeching metal chair legs, fussy service, tacky decor and - God, please no! - toilet attendants.

Despite this large nightclubby bar-restaurant having a branch in Havana, and a salsa band that plays from 7.30pm, the menu is mostly pan-Latin American rather than Cuban: think Mexican quesadillas, ceviche, Argentinian empanadas, Brazilian steaks, Cuban lobster - and burgers.

The fish in our grouper and prawn ceviche was chunky, flavourful and citrussy, but the dish had just one prawn.

Rump steak kebab had none of that typical juicy, salty picanha flavour and its chipotle and guacamole sauces could have been from a supermarket tub.

Barbecued organic chicken with lemon, garlic and pico de gallo salsa and flatbread was better, but for £17.50 not nearly good enough. Sides of mangetout with shallots, and basmati rice, were passable, but again expensive.

Yes, the cocktails are good, but you could spend £100 in the restaurant on a very mediocre meal for two.

Floridita was really really good. Had a great night. Food was excellent (empanadas and cured meat selection, steak and lobster two ways, dessert selection created by a lovely spanish manager), cocktails were very very good and service attentive, friendly and knowledgeable.

Couldn't want for anything more and then the music started...great band followed by another great band followed by a top DJ. We were suppose to give up the table at 9.30pm but luckily they had a cancellation so the manager let us stay there all night.

Everything brilliant apart from my dancing. I will definitly be back!

Went on a Friday night and was initially pleased with our choice of venue, nice atoms and good music, however, the food was very disappointing, the portions were a little more than what you would expect for a starter and overpriced. I paid for a Quesadilla which was a small sized fajita with the middle (only the middle part) filled with Jalapeno peppers, the rest was just dry fajita, and that was my main meal at the cost of £13!!

My drinks was filled with ice, had to ask for enough drink to be added just for taste.

When we got the bill we were further shocked to find the music was charged £6 per person, we paid over £60 for two people, two main dishes which very little food and one alcoholic drink. Not in the slightest good value for money.

AAAbsoluetly amazing! a brilliant find and one of the best restaurants in London. Sevice food and drinks were brilliant and the entertainment was great too. I con't think of anyother venue in England that has such a good vibe with such good food. Well done. I will be back soon!

No, don't even come here for Mojitos and music...

It was my birthday and I went there with my girlfriend. The service was slow and the waiter rude. While I was opening my birthday present the last thing I wanted to hear was an intrusive waiter telling me "wanna pay with cash or card?". What the hell, pure tactlessness!
The waiter even "forgot" to bring me the change and avoided my area for a good 30 mins. I had to go to the bar and complain with the manager to have my change back.

Never again.

Don't ever bother booking this venue for a party or birthday party or you will end up being highly disappointed. This is what happened on a saturday night where we book a table to enjoy an exotic evening in 7 of us and celebrate a friend's birthday.
The restaurant was fully booked and staff should have been well trained for this sort of situation.
This was the worst service and night out that I ever experienced in my entire life; they forgot about my cake order and on top of it; it did not even display the message that I requested well in advance. In addition our drinks and cocktails never reached our table ( we drunk one bottle of champagne on the whole evening!) and if we weren't attentive at our final bill we would have had ended up paying for those drinks that never came! BEWARE!!!

Loved Floridita! The cocktails were superb as were the steaks. Service was excellent too! Highlight of the evening though was the band as this was absolutely amazing.
