In recent years Kolapata - 'banana leaf' in Bengali - has been the leading destination to experience Bangladeshi cooking in London. The restaurant is modest, cheap and very popular with local Bangladeshis. When the food is freshly cooked and the full complement of chefs from Dhaka is in the kitchen, the flavours and freshness sing; but visit off-peak and you may find that the food is rather less impressive.

Well the restaurent looks clean and tidy , It also reflects the Bengali social vibe . But the food is concenr, it is one of the least qualities restaurant,foods are not fresh and Taste is horrible ,Eating there simply waste of time, money and more imortantly peoples expectation of Food.!!!!
WooW.... Yum Yum Tasty Food.... Comparatively Much better price... u can Bring Your Own Booze (BYOB) and have fun. The Entrance of the restaurant is not that great and overall decor is average....but it doesn't matter for me and it just remind the phrase 'Don't judge a book by its cover' ... Because the foods are awesome..... 5 star from me.
Complete rip off. Not value for money. You can add few pounds more and go to other places like Edgware Road and you can enjoy quality meal. Even their competitors around offer far better value for money.
Great evening in authentic settling… we had mainly fish dishes, Lamb, Byriani and Chotpoti. All tasted lovely, although portions were on the smaller than average. I was concerned that apart from TimeOut, some of the reviews were below average. I shouldn’t have. If it looks empty, there are private rooms where some of the locals use, so dont let it put you off. Remember to Bring Your Own Booze (BYOB). Afterwards, you may wish to cross the road to infamous Blind Begger …now frequented by tourist on “east end gangster” tour.
