This remodelled Victorian pub wears its gastro credentials out front for all to see. Legs of jamón hang in the windows; bunches of dried chillies line the bare plaster walls; and onions hang from the orange, retro light fittings. Such culinary decorations add to an interior decor consisting of dark green marble pillars, and high ceilings panelled with plaster frescoes of cherubic faces.
It's worth booking for weekday evenings, when an after-work crowd clutter the outdoor tables, and groups of thirtysomething diners soon fill the interior. Things are quieter at weekends, but at busy periods the jovial staff become rushed and it can take numerous attempts to attract their attention.
The menu revolves around sharing, with a tapas-heavy selection including some Greek and English dishes. Quality is variable. A smoked eel and soft-boiled egg salad was delicately flavoured, and a vegetable meze mix saw garlicky, unctuous carrots sitting alongside fluffy Greek-style pitta. However, fried paprika pork belly was tough and chewy, and a scotch egg didn't noticeably differ from one you'd find in a service station.
Still, a range of Iberian drinks such as sangria, Sagres beer and a small selection of sherries nicely peps up the long wine list.

Food was good but the customer service was awful. I wouldn't go back in a hurry.
