Much though we've enjoyed midweek dinners at Corrigan's, there's no denying the lure of the Sunday lunch deal. If you can resist the extras, such as canapés at £4 a pop (and we couldn't - but the spicy cheese sables were worth it) or the glorious-looking aged rib of beef with yorkshire pudding (£10 supplement), then £27 buys three immaculate courses. Even the £2 a head cover charge is hard to begrudge when bread and petits fours (madeleines warm from the oven) are this good.
Punchy starters of heritage beetroot with goat's cheese gnocchi, and shellfish ravioli with sauce americaine whetted the appetite for satisfying mains of English duck with savoy cabbage and girolles, and a large fish pie made with haddock, sea bass and john dory.
English strawberry pudding, with buttermilk ice-cream and honeycomb, had a fabulous jelly at the bottom, as did pear and lime panna cotta with yoghurt sorbet. Staff are professional but not without humour.
The well-stocked wine list is unstuffy, with an emphasis on biodynamic and organic wines. All this occurs in a calm, pleasant room given interest by the low-key hunting, shooting and fishing motifs: we loved the beautiful feathered lampshades and a handsome silver coffee pot topped by a perky game bird.

Facilities
Babies and children welcome ( high chairs ), Booking advisable, Separate rooms for parties ( seating 4-25 ), Disabled ( toilet )Food good but not great. Going on last night's visit, the staff need better training (no idea about dishes on menu, getting other diners food and timing problems). It's comparatively expensive and there are better value places (nearby) for this type of food - London is packed with restaurants with chefs keen to make their name. I get the impression that they are resting on their laurels.
Absolutely fantastic food of the highest quality! Though it is quire expensive it is well worth every penny; i've been here many times and would particularly recommend the Pheasant.
