With Thai curries among the nation's favourite comfort foods, it's small wonder that this functional dispenser of Asian culinary hugs takes such a battering at lunchtimes. There are other dishes available - pad Thai noodles and chicken with cashew nuts - but it's the cardboard boxes of green curry that keep punters coming back. They're creamy but have a surprising chilli kick, and are packed with tender chicken and chunky vegetables (courgettes, red and green peppers, shredded ginger and lemon grass stems). Packets of prepared sushi are also available alongside prawn crackers and sides (soups, satay, pork and prawn dumplings), and there are a few simple seats by the window for those hoping to delay their return to the office.

As someone who loves Thai food was v interested to see if this place was good since there were so many people queing up. Having read other reviews online now I would have changed my order - I had the Pad Thai which was so inedible most of it went in the bin. They seemed to have poured about 1/2 a kilo of sugar on it - I have never experienced a pad thai so vile! So according to other reviews it seems like the green curry is the one to go for and I may be convinced to go back, but how can a good Thai place get something so basic like Pad Thai so horribly wrong?
