While the decoration at Le Rif is far from inventive - several gaudy Arabic weavings tacked to the walls and a slight decked terrace are all that distinguish it from any typical N7 caff - the food remains excellent.

We recommend you opt for the tagines: tender lamb sweetened with prunes and cinnamon, or spiced chicken with apricots and almonds served on a light layer of couscous - a steal at less than £6 each.

There's no alcohol at this amiable Moroccan, but fruit smoothies and mint tea make for satisfying accompaniments.
