The bright interior may not be big on atmosphere - the crush of so many plain, functional tables more akin to an office canteen than a café, the large mirrors less than flattering and the view on to Garratt Lane dull at best - but Kusinang Munti is slicker than your average oriental buffet. The Philippines' three centuries of colonial domination have left an intriguing Spanish-Mexican influence on the range of dishes, which include the likes of pork or chicken adobo (stewed in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic and peppercorns), satays, lumpiang (similar to spring rolls) and dinuguan (a savoury pork blood stew). Lunch costs just £5.50, dinner £6.50, and the affable staff organise countless parties and in-house events including karaoke.
