On our visit, cuttlefish from Hastings and exquisitely fresh Cornish grey mullet were being offered as tempura, the latter with a wholesome spelt batter and zingy fennel salad. Tofu comes from Clean Bean, which manufactures on Brick Lane. A choice of chilli or miso dressings adds finger-licking goodness to edamame, and fruity vinegar drinks make a refreshing change from tea.

Founder Silla Bjerrum's company was sold to Luke Johnson in September 2010, and expansion is planned.

The service appalling, each time we required service we had to hail someone down.

Hi, I would like to share my takeaway experience with feng sushi. I started ordering from them about 2 years ago, I was very impress with their stated devotion to healthy and fresh food, very polite nice and quick delivery, cute and clean design of the delivery boxes, great choice of dishes on the menu, including brown rice dishes. And I thought that all the above was well worth relatively high prices. About half a year ago I got food poisoning and I suspected Feng sushi as the fishcakes were the only thing I ate that day. I was not sure though because Feng sushi PRs itself as such a clean healthy place. I however gave them another chance. since then I ordered probably 6 times from them. And 3 of the 6 times I could not it the food. It was not yet spoiled but it was not fresh at all, almost spoiled. Dear Feng sushi PLEASE WAKE UP. My latest experience with you: tasteless, old salmon eggs, dull and old tuna sashimi. This is just sad that such a nice brand is failing so badly.

Similar experience to previous comment.

Upon our arrival at Feng Sushi in Chalk Farm we are greeted by... nobody... infact we're basically ignored... The waitress at the till doesn't look up despite the restaurant being completely empty, and the waiter continues his texting away in the corner completely ignoring us.

After a wait, we're finally taken to a table, but despite the fact that there are only two of us in the restaurant at 8.30 on a Saturday night, service continues to be terrible throughout our meal.

We order our food, (a seemingly difficult process during which the waiter doesn't write anything down). The food arrives gradually over a 30 minute period yet dishes are not what we ordered... go figure....

The suggestion becomes that we are unaware of what we asked for... right.

On the upside the food is reasonably decent, though VERY costly considering what we get. A portion of what is described on the menu as "Tempura prawn" consists of only 2 prawns plus some tempura vegetables for over £10...

I would not eat here again.

As per the comment above, our problem with Feng Sushi was the staff. We walked in and were ignored, the guy was playing with his phone. Took ten minutes for him to offer us drinks...its not like he was run off his feet, there was only one other couple in there. He finally took our food order, didn't write it down so got half of it wrong, and then the hot dishes arrived after we had just about given up on them and were asking for the bill. Avoid this place, its souless and the food is mediocre at best.

Usually decent - a little pricey for a not-terribly-comfortable room, but then again it's practically Primrose Hill - but recently Feng Sushi appears to have hired the world's rudest waitress. With only 3 other tables in the restaurant full, our drinks still hadn't arrived after 20 minutes, and she argued with us when we complained. The table next to us received something they hadn't ordered, and she argued with them too. Avoid.
