An award-winning extension by Rick Mather Architects is the setting for the Picture Gallery Café. The interior is lit by floor-to-ceiling windows, and seating spills out on to a terrace overlooking Sir John Soane's original gallery building. The menu strives to outswank its competitors - expect sandwiches on the far side of the £6 mark.
