A few pals set up this café - diagonally across the road from the Lots Road auction house - as a way to nurture both their friendship and the bellies of passers-by. Local office workers have since benefited from having this handy, counter-service place, open from 8am Monday to Friday.
The breakfast menu includes bacon sandwiches (made with bread from Paul Rhodes Bakery), scrambled eggs and omelettes. There are pastries and a few cakes, often wheat and gluten-free.
By lunchtime, expect the display fridge to be filled with a range of daily salads - such as roast pumpkin or Caesar - made in-house by the team of three. Baked potatoes, pasta, soup and curry round out the menu, along with coffee and tea.
There's seating inside and in the small courtyard behind the shop, plus two tables on the pavement.
Kitchen Therapy's website suggests the cooks are a vocal lot, singing while they work. No one serenaded us on our recent visit - but it was a harmonious enough spot, and our lunch hit all the right notes.
