Blackstock Road, the stretch between Finsbury Park and Highbury, is best-known for its Middle Eastern grocery stores and cafés. Now, an Italian ice cream parlour is throwing some gelato into the mix. Cremeria Vienna, which already has a previous branch in High Barnet, is making a mark with its daily-changing selection of ice creams and sorbets.

The classic Italian gelatos, including nocciola (hazelnut) and fragola (strawberry), are freshly made every morning and sold (or discarded) within 24 hours. Creamy Madeira ice cream is dotted with raisins soaked in vin santo, while ground almonds enhance the smooth, pale green pistachio gelato (made with Sicilian pistachios). The generous portions start at £2 for two scoops. It's mostly take-away business, but there are two small tables for those who want a caffè with their gelato.

I absolutely love this place.
Authentic, handmade Italian ice cream (even better than the one I tried back home in Italy) and the staff is so friendly and lovely.
A little gem in Finsbury Park, you must go!

We are on a family tour of Ice cream parlors in London, working are way into Central London, from Edgware. So far, four out of five of the family think this is the best by far, the odd word out like Limone sorbet, so let this be a measure. I felt as if i was in an Roman ice cream parlor, for a few minutes, with the server, suggesting a triple combo that was delicious. Five ice creams for £12, the cheapest som far. Roll on next week, but I doubt the Covent Gardens ones will top Cremeria Vienna.

Really good (tried pistachio and the nutty one) and lovely friendly server. Lots of flavours and you can take home in insulated pots as well. Very impressed!

Fabulous place - who'd have thought we'd have our own ice-cream parlour in Finsbury Park/Highbury!
