The two mums who run this café-cum-children's activity venue welcome customers like friends. When they have a spare five minutes, the staff even seem to enjoy playing with their small visitors. There's a well-stocked dressing-up cupboard, a new giant doll's house, ride-on toys, many books and a large cushion area.
We happily spent four hours here on a rainy day, and there weren't even any activities scheduled (which include music sessions, arts and crafts, story-time and face-painting). In that time, we sampled good strong coffee and various dishes.
The egg in the bacon sandwich was slightly overcooked, but everything tasted homemade in all the right ways, and the kids lapped up their spag bol and penne with tomato and herbs. As we settled our very reasonable bill, the staff gave the children some Monopoly money for being good, and explained they could spend it on cakes or ice-creams next time. Next time will be soon.

Facilities
Babies and children welcome ( children's menu; colouring books; crayons; high chairs; nappy-changing facilities; toys ), Available for hire, Disabled ( toilet ), Takeaway serviceLovely place. Good, simple food, the best part is you can relax, let the kids do what they want and enjoy a coffee or meal. My 18 month old loves the toys and dressing up cupboard. They also have classes and activities. Good notice board full of leaflets to find out about local kiddy stuff; classes, events, babysitters. Staff are lovely, sweep away all the dropped food on the floor without a huff.
The only down point is the cost. Given the uniqueness of the place, and the ability to be able to relax when in there (and not worry about your child playing up and upsetting other customers), I pay it, but £4 for a bowel of pasta with pesto is daylight robbery! (kids eat free though if you go for dinner in the evening).
Coffee and cake mummy heaven.
