Temptingly packaged prepared foods, choice grocery items and gorgeous bakes line the walls of this deli-cum-café. Design is sleek and functional and the 'menu' is limited to what can be toasted or plated - salads, sandwiches, pizzas and cakes, which you select from the shop.
A tuna niçoise salad, presented on a pretty flower plate, featured high-quality ingredients and showed a refreshing lightness of touch for something that, only minutes before, had been sitting on a shelf in a plastic container. This is not the location for a leisurely lunch, but the Grocer does provide a welcome haven in the middle of a shopping trip. And whatever standard of cook you may be, it's hard to leave the shop without a little package to take home.
