With a name like Adam's Café and a daytime menu of full English and other greasy spoon favourites, you might not expect the nightly transformation into a cosy North African bistro. Head here after 7pm, though, and mottled lampshades scatter pretty patterns of light across a candlelit room that's decorated in muted blues and greens, with ornate ceramic tiling. In-the-know locals often fill the place.
The menu is helpfully split into prices for one, two or three courses; you can mix and match as you like and it's great value. Briks, doigts de fatma and cigares - all crisp little pastries, surprisingly light and delicately spiced, with meat, seafood or vegetarian fillings - are highlights among the starters. Main courses include tagines and couscous, as well as a variety of grilled meats and fish.
The chefs hail from Morocco and Tunisia, and the subtlety of the aromatic dishes shows their homelands' cuisines in their best light. Complimentary appetisers, a leisurely atmosphere and optional BYO add to diners' sense of well-being.

Tables outdoors ( 5, patio ), Babies and children admitted, Takeaway service, Vegetarian menuOne of our favourite restaurants in the whole of London, and definitely the best in terms of value for money. The food is sophisticated and well-presented - particularly recommended are the tagines and cous cous dishes. And really friendly service.
Lots of interesting dishes and flavours I'd never tasted before! Everything was lovely and tasty, and all such good value. I'll definitely be coming back again and again!
excellent food and very friendly , it's one of our favourites. It's recently been redecorated and looks even nicer than in the picture. can't recommend this one highly enough.
Very good food and friendly, unfussy service. We ate for around £20 a head (including two courses, a beer each and tip). We started with the brik and for mains had the sea bass and chicken tagine. Everything was cooked superbly and very tasty. Would recommend highly.
i am getting married in july in tunisia to my tunisian boyfriend. he will then apply to come to england to join me living here. he is a chef in tunisia, i would love to take him to Adam,s cafe to eat as im sure he would love it...
You can actually walk here in about 15-20 minutes from Shepherds Bush station, its not overly exerting on the legs. Its also definitely worth it as the food here is both interesting and delicious. Tunisian food is one of those Middle Eastern foods like Syrian - its differences with Moroccan (like Syrian's with Lebanese) arent all that vast, but once you see the variations on the menu and really begin to taste flavours, you'll notice the change and how interesting it can make what would seem like a very similar dish. Its also not all that common, like Syrian food, and this place definitely delivers on making you wish there were more Tunisian places. Grilled meat is a must try here. The service is also incredibly friendly, I believe the waitress is the lady who part runs it and she spares no time in making you feel incredibly welcome. A must if you enjoy Moroccan/Lebanese food.
