Despite the name, the interior of this place is intriguingly un-Hellenic, except for a map of the Greek islands that dominates the entrance. The distracting TV screens have vanished; instead, gold-edged mirrors and black and white portraits adorn the dark walls, and a glitzy glass chandelier hangs over the dining room.
The lengthy menu consists mainly of Greek classics, some of which come with a modern twist. A starter of feta wrapped in crisp filo pastry got an aniseed kick from ouzo liquor. Fava bean croquettes surprised with their golf ball size: four was a very generous portion, though the addition of capers to an already highly seasoned batter made them too salty. Mains cover traditional moussaká, chicken or pork gyros, and meat skewers. Kléftiko wasn't served on the bone, as is usual; instead, a few dry chunks of meat had been cooked in parchment paper, and came with a small side salad. Pork gyros in a pitta wrap was also on the dry side, but a generous slap of creamy tzatzíki made up for it.
Our friendly Cypriot waitress helped with the Greek wine selection, some of which is available in a 375ml carafe.

I went to a birthday party here yesterday and after being told the group could order from the a la carte menu we were then told when we arrived that we couldn't have certain things! The starters all arrived at different times, some not at all. The sides to the main arrived 20 mins before and went cold. Some peoples food arrived after everyone had eaten. All the restaurant could offer us was to remove the serive charge and the meals we sent back. The bill still came just under £300 and that was with only 1 bottle of wine, half a carafe and 3 bottles of beer!!!!!!! Unbelieveable. Will never go here again. The 1 star is for the food which was half decent when it arrived!!!!!!!!!
