Set in Camberwell, Su-Thai is hugely popular with locals and it’s no surprise. Any diner who has spent time in Thailand will recognise the warm welcome and immaculate service which greets them at this restaurant, where the customer’s experience is of paramount importance. The simplistic interior decoration, with scrubbed pine seating, single chrysanthemums in vases adorning tables and understated Thai art on the walls, allows the service and food to shine. Traditional Thai dishes which every diner will recognise are great for both carnivores and vegetarians alike with curries and seafood dishes particularly good. For a true taste of Thailand without leaving the capital, Su Thai is the perfect place.

I went out last friday(06/05/11) with my friend to find something to eat. There were Su Thai restaurant not very far from my friend's place. Just found out that they were the new owner. The food on the menu looked different from normal Thai food that I've tried..kind of fusion food I would say and the price did not look very dear. The decor was simple but look classic in a way and the staff were very friendly and polite. I pick soft shell crab in yellow curry which was one of their signature dishes. It was really nice especially when they served it in a white bloomer bread! To conclude I would recommend this place if you want to try something different and nice to eat...
Over the years you can get a bit sick of red curry this and green curry that, espec when you can buy a passable tub of paste from anywhere these days. Su Thai though does v fresh, clear separate tastes in their food. Staff rotate a bit, but are mainly v friendly withjout being in your face or un professional. This is one of the 3 or 4 places worth bothering to eat at in Camberwell.
