Situated in the heart of Farringdon, The Distillers Smithfield is the newly opened sister pub of The Distillers Hammersmith and The Bedford, in Balham. Serving quality gastropub cuisine, The Distillers Smithfield aims to impress, with décor comprising stained glass double doors, crushed velvet banquettes, plush curtains and grand mirrors. The ambience is upbeat yet informal, making The Distillers Smithfield the perfect place to relax and unwind after a hard day’s work. Following in the footsteps of its sister pubs, there is live music on Thursday evenings, and on the last Sunday of the month. We love the chicken bacon sandwich with rocket beef tomato, and the roasted pork belly served with Asian noodle salad cider jus.

What is 'following'?This pub was awful. I have never had the displeasure of being served by such rude staff. They seemed much more interested in giving drinks to their friends at the end of the bar. The bar woman took much delight in ripping down the "reserved" signs for the large party we were with which was just bizzarre. The best bit is my friend went to get two pints, the second being pulled short so the delightful woman at the bar told him that the first pint was "over filled" so that makes up for the second one. Ridiculous attitude and so unneccessary on a night out. The bar manager was also extremely rude. I wouldn't go back to this pub if they paid me. If you want somewhere decent for your Christmas party of whatever, look elsewhere. An unfunny joke like their stupid obviously-written-by-themselves reviews floating around the Internet. The days of these types of places are numbered at least, people are expecting decent service instead of blatant money-grabbing dives like this. Avoid Time-Outers!
I have just had lunch at this pub with work colleagues for an early Xmas lunch. The pub was freezing cold, they had run out of warm mulled cider, the food was cold and portions small (outrageous at £13.00 for a main course), vegetables were still raw and the coffee machine was broken so we were served instant coffee. Appalling. We definitely will not be returning.
