Located in Haverstock Hill, directly opposite the Belsize Park tube station, Tapeo is a buzzy and affordable Spanish tapas restaurant with killer cocktails and an impressive Spanish wine list. Bright and airy, the dining room is decorated with blonde wood flooring and furniture with bright blue accents, a stainless steel bar, and a reproduction of Picasso's Guernica hanging on one of the walls. Popular with locals of all ages, Tapeo has an excellent menu perfect for sharing with friends and family, and highlights include the deep fried sliced courgettes served with garlic mayonnaise; the grilled sardines marinated in white wine, garlic and thyme; and the selection of Spanish cured hams served with Barcelonian bread.

True spanish food is hard to come by in London, being a spaniard makes it even harder to be satisfied with the food. So it's not surprise that I wasn't overwhelmed by the tortilla, small, too dried and nothing like the original thing you get in spain. the pisto was nice though, chorizo was good too, pimientos rellenos was pretty disappointing but the good selection of beers made up for that. all in all, a decent tapas bar, not the same as in spain but good enough for London. the service was friendly, and they even gave us some free shots at the end, like in true spanish fashion!!
Great little tapas plates for sharing, great selection of Spanish red wines, fun busy atmosphere. Staff isn't overly friendly at first, but they get friendlier over time. Live music and even dancing some nights. The roasted pimentos are a really special treat, and the haloumi in tomatoes, and aubergine with tomatoes and cheese are some of our favorite dishes.
Rubbish unfriendly service and overpriced average food.
Never ever again.
