The neighbourhood bistro has a whole new look thanks to the Fig Bistro, Islington’s most charming and enticing restaurant. Set in the much sought after Barnsbury area of London, the Fig Bistro is a relaxed and informal space, beautifully appointed to reflect the modern tastes of the stylish North London set. It’s not difficult to see why booking is absolutely essential here at the cosy Fig Bistro, indeed so beloved is the Fig name round these parts that even on traditionally ‘quiet’ days the bistro finds itself full of hungry diners, eager to sample Chef Patron Christoffer Hruskova’s delectable menu of simple restaurant favourites with their strong French inspiration, Mediterranean flavours and splash of British tradition.

What is 'following'?Extremely poor experience. I can only assume that it's better in the evening than at "brunch time" in which their spartan menu dissappointed on every level.
Avoid at all costs for lunch.
Tortilla with spicy beans, avocado and a poached egg, at £8 was apparently all purchased from the local corner shop. Cold floury flatbread with heinz beans and a bit of chilli.
Underwhelming doesnt even cover it.
Went to Fig last night. We had no complaints about the food. A bit minimal on the portion size and range of options (made worse by the length of time you had to wait too). But when they did arrive every dish was full of flavour and well presented. But the biggest disappointment was the bill which we were forced to dispute twice. Firstly we were charged over £50 extra. This was because we had been charged for a bottle instead of a glass of a desert wine, the waiter said by means of explanation rather than apology. Then the revised bill came back still containing the original service charge based on the higher bill. And instead of getting an apology we were met by a slightly surly shrug when I asked for the incorrect service charge to be removed altogether. So we left without leaving a tip which was a shame given that it had actually been a nice meal but a ful £70 better off than had we paid the original bill.
