Mehek restaurant in London's Moorgate in the heart of the financial district is a design-conscious, sophisticated Indian restaurant popular with City folk and curry connoisseurs too. This award-winning restaurant – previous winner of the British Curry Awards, owner of an AA rosette – has delightful décor, the work of a well-known Bollywood designer and waiters who are genuinely interested in the welfare of their diners. Mehek's Indian menu offers two areas of expertise: the classic Indian dishes that Britons love like tikkas, dhansaks and kormas, and more daring and unusual dishes like guinea fowl bilash, ak-bari lamb shank (the chef's signature) dish and Hyderabadi duck. The entire menu is founded on authentic Indian cuisine filtered through the exciting creative sensibility of Head Chef Abdul Matlib, formerly of highly-rated Maharaja of India and Noor-Jahan. The Mehek bar is an attractive and popular meeting place for pre-dinner drinks. The wine list is a perfect accompaniment to the subtle and spicy flavours of Mehek's Indian dishes.
