Fantastic food and atmosphere.
I highly recommend it.
Not being a fan of French food I wasn't actually expecting to enjoy Meribel as much as I did. LOVE LOVE LOVE the decor, really eclectic with a touch of oldy worldy french style. Also really liked the great big long open fire, very cosy.....as was the lovely, warm informal service we received from our waitress...
Starters were wonderful and came in just the right amount of time (enough so I could drink my aperitif...). Gorgeous plum moules in a creamy white wine sauce yuuuuuuummmeeee!!
our waitress then recommended the Cote de Boef @ £42...sounds pricey but it does serve two very well and WOW what a steak.....came with standard chips (very nice homemade) and we too a side of green beans - all excellent
The classic creme brules we also outstanding...all in all a top night - Well don Meribel i am a true convert!!!
Very beautiful dining room - one of the nicest in the area. The food is fairly pricey. I have eaten there twice and the first time I had a very good steak which could have been a little hotter. Tonight I ate superb lamb chops and dauphinoise potatoes. I think this is going to be an excellent place once they have smoothed out a few teething problems (please stop serving food on bread boards or in saucepans!)
We've been there 3 times now and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is so nice, specially the big fireplace. The food was lovely every time and the wine list is refreshingly different.
Looked very promosing, friendly welcome, interesting decor, meals came to the table in disjointed manner, my food very disappointing, steak cold served on wooden platter with tasteless potatoes, Duck overcooked, others meals OK, gave me discount but then charged VAT on bill ,strange, they need to do better
Had lunch today, lovely food and atmosphere
