Gatti's restaurant in the City of London near Liverpool Street Station on Whitecross Place offers both big city sophistication and delicious Italian cooking like mama used to make, all in one sleek package. The plush dining room has loads of personality but with a discreet, masculine air and every bit of white table linen, smart silver and crystal that proper service demands. At lunchtimes the tables are crowded with high-flyers and you get the feeling that big deals are being done. In the evening, Gatti's relaxes into a more intimate ambience, though the service is just as sprightly.
