The view alone overlooking fashionable, charming Leadenhall Market is worth
the steep climb to this lively French dining room. Packed with suited City men (tables are close together), it has simple wooden tables draped in traditional white cloths and Parisian art on the walls. Steaks feature strongly on an appealing menu of solid, classic French fare - all come with a grilled tomato, frites and a sauce au poivre or béarnaise. An efficient waiter will describe that day’s specials to you.

What is 'following'?What a disappointment! After recommending Luc's Brasserie based on a good memory of a meal there 3 years ago, I experienced a poor borderline rude service for very average food at not so affordable prices. The staff accepted our booking for a lunch with a toddler advising (several times on the day) they do not provide for children. So why accept them in the first place? All of that to find out that Pizza Express downstairs does lend them highchairs regularly. The minimised menu for the day (it was on the 28th of Dec so less choice) offered options that were in the end not available. One would ask why print a special menu for the day. Don't they ask the Chef what's to be served? The Chateaubriand beef came way over cooked when asked for medium rare (a shame for this great cut and for its price) and the roasted chicken was ever so dry. To top it up when ordering a £40 bottle of red, the waitress poured the degustation glass and put down the bottle right away adding "it's here so you can help yourself". If you want to show off with white shirts and long black aprons' wear to pretend to a high quality service then the first thing to teach your staff is that THEY should pour the wine to the other guests after clearance from the testing. I had way better experiences at my local pub. And I can handle rude waitresses... I am French myself!
