Fresh, light, modern, and sophisticated are words that describe both The Light House restaurant in the south London suburb of Wimbledon and its meltingly good Italian fusion cuisine. The dining room is pleasingly modern and spacious, all pale walls with striking artworks, blond floors and furniture, and there is a lovely patio for lingering on and on. The Light House menu changes every day to make best use of the freshest seasonal ingredients and each dish is an adventure. Try perroche bruschetta with piquillo peppers, caperberries, babaganoush and Greek olives to start, perhaps followed by pan-fried sea bass on wild garlic leaves, courgettes, ratte potatoes and romesco sauce. Black pepper cheesecake with gooseberry compote is a winner, too. For chatty lunches, romantic evenings, memorable Sunday lunches or satisfying meals when Wimbledon tennis is in full swing, The Light House is waiting with excellent modern European food and friendly service.

What is 'following'?This is by far the best restaurant in wimbledon, i have been eating here with my husband for three years since moving to wimbledon. The menu is always different and the staff lovely, the set lunches offer outstanding value. Highly reccomend
I thought it was OK but really no more than that. I found our waitress to be a bit brusque and the food was fairly average. I ordered crab soup and didn't expect to receive a whole crab in my bowl. It looked like it had been drowned. My dining partner chose veal as a main course and it was incredibly salty. It was OK, but I don't think I'll be rushing back.
