Baan Thai is a busy and vibrant Thai restaurant on Coldharbour Lane in London’s buzzing Brixton. The delicious food, laid-back vibe and super-friendly staff make it a favourite with locals and a pre-concert crowd headed for the Brixton Academy. Baan Thai restaurant’s cheery dining room is decorated with vibrant colours, comfortable seating and holiday-coloured lights. Baan Thai is rightly proud that all its staff, including the chef, are Thai, adding an indisputable flavour of Thailand to their authentic menu. If you already know and love Thai food as most of Britain seems to, you’ll be delighted to find most of your favourite dishes on the menu, including tom yum gai soup, lovely curries like massaman, jungle, red and green. International wines, beers and soft drinks are very reasonably priced, so you can make an outing to Baan Thai a regular occurrence. Baan Thai is perfect for a quick and delicious meal with friends.

Baan Thai was perfectly fine. Food reviews ranged from not bad to excellent; the Tao Hoo Pad Ped (tofu with a chilli sauce) was the best of the veggie options. Tasty spring rolls to start, and good prawn crackers. Only quibble was on value for money - the food wasn't too bad, but the beers were expensive. For two starters, four mains and four beers we paid £70 - a bit over the odds given what we had to eat.
Reviews of Baan Thai
Baan Thai in Brixton serves consistently good food at reasonable. It is a superb option for groups of 3 people or more people because of the way their portions are sized and the rainbow trout is a winner every time. the ambience is a bit so-so, not great for a date but a perfectly decent option if eating out with friends who want to celebrate. And try their Moet Chandon - you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Incredibly tasty food and the best Pad Thai I've had outside of Thailand! The house wine is lovely too.Well worth a visit!

I must say that Baanthai has the best thai in London. Every dish I and friends ordered on Saturday night were extremely delicious. The service they provided us was very good. The waiters were very friendly and helpful with the orders. they gave us some recommendations about their food. They really know what they were talking about and this really impressed me a lot. I would recommend anyone to come and try Baanthai in Brixton.

Hard to review since we were the only customers there but... service was attentive, the food arrived quickly! Not sure how it would be on a busy night. But the food was excellent and very large portions, very good value for money.

Great takeaway/delivery service - arrived within half an hour on a Friday night. Quite a limited menu, but if all you're after is the classic Thai dishes, they do them really well. The King Prawn red curry was delicious
