Jun Tanaka’s Pearl is one of London’s most glamorous dining rooms. From the moment you walk in, the restaurant exudes opulence with trails of hand-strung pearls, pearl chandeliers and walnut interior.
An exquisite modern French menu changes seasonally and is complemented by the stunning surroundings of the restaurant. Pearl’s award-winning wine list features over 400 wines stored in the expertly crafted wine cellar.
Set in the former banking halls of the Pearl Assurance company, Pearl was designed by internationally renowned United Designers with the brief to carry the heritage of the past into the future. Trails of hand-strung pearls, polished walnut surroundings and rare marble combine to give Pearl an air of opulence assured with unique table lighting and pearlescent leather upholsteries. Signature cocktails and martinis are placed on Mother of Pearl inlaid tables in the chic, vibrant bar, while two walnut booths offer private, intimate surroundings away from the main bar.

What is 'following'?Been a few times and it has got better and better!! Fab atmosphere, great cocktails, wonderful food and efficient welcoming service. It was very busy every time I have been so i would advise booking. Everyone that i have been there with has been blown away, you know how we all like a real find, well this is it...
What a lovely restaurant. Can't wait to go back and take it all in.The decor is beautiful and so tasteful. The food was just the best especially the miso cod dish which just melts in your mouth. The staff are lovely and very friendly.Didn't have to wait long for our food.Overall you have to give it a visit.
What a disappointment! I went to Rock & Rose with a group of friends expecting it to be great. The service was awful. We waited half an hour just to order and even then we had to ask if we could order now please. I ordered a burger and was told rudely by the waitress that it would mean everyone had to wait longer for their food because the burger would come from the grill. (How long does it take to grill a burger, for God's sake?). She made me feel really uncomfortable, like I was putting everyone out. I was told it would take half an hour. Actually it took 45 minutes and even then it was underdone (and I'd asked for it to be well done). I thought the sticky toffee pudding might be better, but that was cold. The restaurant looked very nice but the food wasn't great and the service was awful. I won't be going there again.
Avoid -rudest service I have ever received
I have booked a table for 3 over the phone last week, for Sat night (18:30). When we got there it turned out that the booking was made for 8 person. Obviously I have NOT booked a table for 8 but for 3, and it's quite hard to believe that "three" can be misheard as "eight".
The staff had maintained their claim that I have made the booking for the wrong number, and continued pulling faces. (Customer is always right isn't?)
Eventually we got seated, and were asked to leave the table by 20:30. We have agreed to this and took the table. Around 19:50 we were just browsing through the dessert menu when we were approached by the waitress and asked to leave the table at 20:00. We refused, as the other waitress who seated us clearly said 20:30.
The manager then approached us with the same request, strongly (and without any apology) demanded us to leave by 20:00 - probably at this point I should have offered to leave without paying, and avoid further embarrassment in front of my guests as the dinner started to turn into a rather bitter experience. We refused again to leave, and stayed until 20:30 - hence "allowed" to finish our meals.
Needless to say I have plenty of other restaurant options in the Kew/Richmond neighbourhood to spend my hard earned cash, and will not be frequenting this restaurant in the future.
