I was recently in London and I did not appreciate the restaurant. The food is a travesty of italian food, not well cooked, the waiters are noisy and rude (note: they arn not italian, but portuguese posing as italians, cursing all the time because they think noboby understands them, I do as I am a portuguese living in Italy ) . In short a deception and not a cheap one. Pretentious, noisy and expensive.

I moved to London 6 months ago from Shropshire. Life was good but I wanted more; more excitement, a faster pace of lifestyle, just more flavour! At the end of my first month at work, I took my flatmate out to dinner to celebrate my new life (and first pay packet.) I had heard some work colleagues talk about Signor Sassi in the office before and from what I had gathered, it was exactly what I was into so I booked a table for 7pm. We had a wonderful evening; our waiter was extremely pleasant and helpful and the overall service that evening was excellent. The restaurant was busy but not at all comfortable. If anything, we enjoyed the hustle and bustle that I came to London looking for. As we looked around, we saw patrons laughing and joking, generally having a brilliant time. We didn’t have to wait long for our starters which was great because we has starved ourselves all day for this feast, it wasn’t helping that I could smell the gorgeous food from neighbouring tables! I ordered the Avocado Diverso which was absolutely beautiful. It looked so perfect on the plate that I didn’t want to touch it. I soon got over that when I remembered how hungry I was. The ingredients went perfectly together and I really enjoyed it. After that was finished, I just couldn’t wait for the mains, it could only get better! Being a huge pasta fan, (I could eat it all day everyday) I ordered the Pasta Alla Norma. Of course being such a massive fan, I’ve eaten a lot of it in my time and this was hands down, the best I’ve ever tasted. It just melted in my mouth! As we ordered our dessert, we noticed a familiar couple enter the restaurant. They were dressed exquisitely, head to toe in designer clothes and realised it was a very known Royal couple! I was star struck! How brilliant! We ended our meal with dessert and I ordered the Crostata Al Frutti Di Bosco, a tart topped with custard cream and fruit. Flawless!! All in all, a superb experience at Signor Sassi. I can’t wait to go again!
