Buried away off Bishopsgate in a cobbled corner close to Spitalfields Market where city suits and Shoreditch collide, the Water Poet is a multi-tasking gem with a bar, restaurant, pool parlour, a downstairs theatre and a sun-trap of a beer garden. The food offering includes small plates, large plates and sharing platters.

Lovely staff and a great atmosphere every day of the week. I reserved their barn for a birthday party one summers evening and my friends loved the place - our own sound system and a large private area which opens up onto the beautifully lit (always teeming) pub garden. Food's good too.
Lovely quirky pub on the edge of the City. Busy throughout the weekend with Hipsters and City types and then lovely and chilled at the weekends with tourists and locals relaxing for a bite to eat and a few drinks
Really great pub that's a complete surprise when you walk through the door. Apart from the big main bar there's a HUGE garden and restaurant, and even a cinema downstairs.... Lovely place.
We love The Water Poet. It's the best Sunday lunch we've found in London. We're working our way through the desserts. The beer garden is great and the atmosphere makes it one of the coolest pubs I know.
