FAO Caroline Futher to your comments on timeout and google, I must point out to you that we gave you an indication of the wait-time when you placed your order, as we were extremely busy When the delivery man arrived he had to wait between 5 to 10 mins before you collected the order. If as you claimed the food was cold you should have immediately phoned the restaurant and we would have delivered a repeat order and the same time collected the inedible cold food. It would not be reasonable to have eaten the food and ask for a full refund becaused it is cold. It will be like buying goods, deem them to be unsuitable, request a full refund but not return the "unsuitable goods". The best advise I can share with you is to look for another restaurant to order from.

The food? Most of it is indeed simple: sushi, noodles, donburi, yakimono, katsu and tempura are all available. Some of it is complicated by more powerful flavours: garlic, coriander, ‘home-made chilli jam’ – mostly to lip-smacking effect. To say ‘wow’ might be pushing it, but we’ve been impressed by chilli-spiked ika karaage (deep-fried squid) off the regular menu and succulent sea bass tempura from the specials board – both in a feather-light coating that speaks of a dab hand at batter in the kitchen. Good-quality fish is used throughout, so it’s a pity to serve seared salmon sashimi with an overpowering drizzle of curry-tinged coulis; fresh nigiri and maki are an unadulterated success. And may the management never remove garlic fried rice from the menu. The drink? A single sheet listing red, white, rose, saké, beer and soft. The restaurant? Just a rectangular room of cream walls and dark brown furniture with only a smattering of Japanese decorations to signify the cuisine. But most of the staff are as welcoming as the prices, and you get all sorts here, in a good way, so it’s easy to see why the first Japanese restaurant to open in Crouch End continues to prosper without foodie gimmicks or showy surroundings.

Stay away from this restaurant as tonight I've had the worst experience - i must be a stickler for pain because this isnt the first time I've done that. They lied to us over the phone three times, they were an hour and half late. The food came cold so had to be microwaved (this is why i am a fool as this always seems to happen). And they would not offer me a refund unless we returned our dinner! The owner spoke to me extremely rudely and I want to warn everyone else to stay away!
We - and our kids - love Wow Japanese. Top quality, fresh ingredients, deliciously and authentically prepared. Reasonably priced, especially for lunch. Service is low-key but friendly and efficient. This Japanese restaurant is better than most in town - we are lucky to have such a great little place in Crouch End.
Visiting Wow, simply japanese is an all too rare treat for me. I have never been disappointed with the food there. I had the Wow Roll to start with and Chicken teriyaki which was tender and delicious. Great food at good prices. Staff are discreet but attentive. I left feeling nicely replete. Wow is always a pleasure. Dottie
Having been a regular for some time (although apparently not regular enough - we were told) tonight we had an experience we will not be looking to repeat. All okay, until the Black Cod (£15 for a small piece of cod on a banana leaf) arrived which has become almost half the size - apparently though, I am wrong and it has always been this size. They were willing to replace it with another dish but not my partners.....strangely enough I don't go out and pay for dinner where I first watch my partner eat and then I eat afterwards! Customer service appalling - I offered to pay for half the meal since I felt the portion size was so small, she said she would take it away! Needless to say we will not be back. The food is quite nice but not at those prices or portion sizes.
I absolutely love this place. Food is amazing! Service is great. The best sushi place in crouch end.
