DO NOT GO THERE! I wish I had read these reviews before: Apsara is not the place where you want to do your eyebrows! I went there for threading, misled by the Time Out review . I believe I met the "old lady" (as called in other posts) who is also the shop's owner. As soon as I told her the kind of treatment I needed, she asked me to pay in advance and I thought this was pretty rude since it made me feel she thought I might have run out without paying after the service. In any case I paid in advance as she asked. She did my first eyebrow and when I looked in the mirror and realised that it wasn't really shaped, I told her I would have liked to have a more clean look but she got upset and started a monologue on how she believed my eyebrows should have been treated, how wrong I was and that she could do as asked but then I should have taken responsibility on the guaranteed bad result. Intimidated by the vehemence, I started to doubt myself and decided to let her do her job according to her professional judgement without interfering. Bad decision! She did the second eyebrow (continuing to monologue about her long professional experience and my out of place remark) and when I looked at the final result it was simply a mess: the two eyebrows had completely different shape, width and even length (one was almost a centimeter shorter than the other), and my eyebrow area was swollen and red and I was even bleeding in three different spots! I asked her why I was bleeding and she rudely told me my skin was too sensitive! I realised it would have been a complete waste of time to argue with her so I just left and tried to fix the damage by myself with tweezers and some soothing lotion. The area was sore for the whole day. In conclusion, if you decide to save some money in these harsh times chose a different one: there are many beauticians who will do an excellent job for the same price.

An Asian salon with a cheap and effective brow threading service – from just £6 for brows and £2.50 for an upper lip. The little nail bar sorts out your nails with little ceremony and only moderate cost attached (£15 gets you a good manicure). The only glossy thing about the place is the nails, but that means staff are happy to get stuck in with the power tools to file off dead skin. Just don’t expect service with a smile, or a relaxing session. Treatments are functional rather than luxurious, and you get what you pay for when it comes to customer service - very little.

This is the worst place I've ever been to. Please don't go. Let me clarify why you should never go to this place: 1) The chest wax was one of the worst I've ever had (I've been having my chest wax for 3 years now - I know a good one when I see one). But it's the fact that the lady also made it so so painful. AND SHE DIDN'T FINISH IT. Then she had the CHEEK to charge me MORE!! for under my belly button. Never before have I been insulted like this. 2) It was so badly done, I had to epilate after (and when a guy has to epilate after, you know that's serious) 3) The place is extremely dirty, filthy, small, unairconditioned. There is no music in the background. No fan for air. It was hot and stuffy. 4) They want you out as quick as possible. They don't even know customer service!! 5) The owners are generally the most horrible people I have ever met.
ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COST. OWNER'S ARE RUDE THIEVES. THE LADY WHO DOES ALL THE WORK (OWNER) SUITS HER CONVENIENCE. IT IS NOT WHAT YOU HAVE PAID FOR OR YOUR COMFORT. IT'S ALL ABOUT HER ARMS TWISTING .05 DEGREES MORE AND SHE HAS A PROBLEM. VERY PIRCEY FOR REALLY BAD LOW CLASS SERVICE. THEY TAKE THE MONEY BEFORE THEY SERVE YOU AS THEY MUST HAVE HAD SO MANY BAD EXPERIENCES OF PEOPLE BEING UPSET WITH THERE VERY BAD SERVICE. I ALSO GOT MY LEGS WAXED AND SHE COULDN'T GET THE HAIR OUT AFTER TRYING 4 TIMES AND LEFT IT WHEN I COMPLAINED SHE SAID DO IT YOURSELF WAS GENERALLY VERY RUDE THROUGH OUT AND MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE SHE IS DOING YOU A FREE FAVOR. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND ALSO REPORT THIS PARLOR FOR RUDE OWNER WHO ASKED ME TO GET OUT AND NEVER COME BACK IN THE END.
I agree with all the comments. I have been in this place several times but today it's the last. Lately the same girl did my eyebrows and I was very happy with her. That is why I went back. She was nice and although she did not speak very much (I don't think workers are allowed to speak in this place) she was polite, careful and delicate. Very different story today with a stupid woman who kept getting annoyed with the way I placed my hands and who kept saying I had to press my hands harder. In the end she shut up after I said I was about to lose my eyeballs! To make things worse the owner decides to walk behind while she was pulling my hairs and as there wasn't enough space my chair was pushed forward. No sorry, no nothing. I just stood up and left the place without my eyebrows finished but at least with eyes and eyelashes in place. Not sure about my eyebrows though. I think if I had stayed I would be now walking to Boots to buy a brow pencil!!! The owners are rude like hell and simply have no manners. As I am going to print this review and handle it personally to the owners to make sure they read it I am going to suggest they either change their business or they go to a customer service training course to learn how to treat people. Why this place is still open is a mystery to me.
I've been to Apsara plenty of times and while the people in charge are quite rude in person, I liked the way the girls did my eyebrows. But until today, I was only served by the younger ladies and not the older lady in charge. I went there today to get my eyebrows threaded and the lady in charge was the one who did mine. I was not satisfied with how she did this and I realised this when I got home so I called the salon to talk about this. She yelled at me on the phone without even giving me chance to get a word in to tell her what I was actually unhappy about. The man at the reception who answered the phone was very happy to discuss a complaint when he thought it was about one of the younger ladies (who I must say actually do a great job!) but when I mentioned it was the older lady, he yelled at me too, saying she was the boss and the best in town. The funny thing is that I only called to say I wasn't happy about the service this time but I would've gone back but now I'm extremely unhappy with this place and not because of the eyebrows but the incredibly disrespectful customer service I got. I don't think too many customers appreciate being yelled at and it's no way to run a business. I'll certainly never go there again and I'll be sure to tell my friends who go there about this experience. I would never recommend a place that treated people like this. I've been there plenty of times and seen how she yells at those girls and experienced the not very good customer service of the man at reception but I had tolerated it because the girls were good. No more. I don't even want to give it a one rating.
I will never ever recommend this parlor to any one. Firstly, the owner , lady Apsara is very rude lady. Secondly, she is a robber. The prices on her list is more than double that any other parlor of that category and the service is third class. If you really wanna spend that much better go a decent parlor...dont waste your money for a third class treatment.
This place is AWFUL. Avoid. Went expecting cheap & cheerful but it was neither. Service was obnoxious from the start, paid £50 for manicure & pedicure which, while cheaper than some places, was really not cheap enough to justify the rude, incompetent, and at some points down right painful treatment I experienced. I had a "french manicure" which, with the rough edges, bits of fluff and clumsy application, looks like the results of a young child's first experiment with make up. I cannot believe I wasted money on this, but they make you pay first so there is nothing you can do. Do not be tempted by this no nonsense timeout review - the place is total nonsense.
