Time Out says

To mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Selfridges bigs up all things British – from cups of tea to Marmite, royals to rebels. In-store events celebrate aspects of our national character – with Pearly Kings and Queens and Morris dancers expected to attend – while pop-up shops including the Big British Shop feature British labels old and new, among them Hunter, Mulberry and Barbour. The Big British Bang Fashion Show (May 24 6-9pm) previews this season’s men’s underwear and swimwear collections. Until mid-June, aspiring princesses can visit the Tiara Shop for replicas of famous designs worn by Princess Diana and Kate Middleton. There’s also regal fashion on show by some of the Queen’s favourite designers, along with a small display of historic royal gloves, curated by Dents gloves. The Big British Tea Party (May 31-Sep 2 noon-6pm) sees the store’s rooftop transformed into a tea shop for lunch and afternoon tea. There’s also an exhibition, ‘Britannica’ curated by Judith Clark, looking at the style and fashions of the 1950s. Selfridges windows, meanwhile, are made over in a series of themed displays by top names in British design.
