    Where to buy limited edition

    Adidas Originals Newburgh Street
Adidas launched this concept store in 2004 as a unique retail experience incorporating an exhibition space. This is an Aladdin’s cave for true Adidas fans and undoubtedly the best place to seek out the most elusive limited editions. Our favourites include the Promodel vintage mid-boot, while coming soon is the ZX 600 (a retro running shoe available in a minimum of three different colour schemes).
    Adidas Originals, 6 Newburgh St, W1F 7RQ (020 7734 9976/www.adidas.com/conceptstores) Oxford Circus tube. Open Mon-Sat 10.30am-6.30pm, Sun 1-5pm.

    A Bathing Ape ‘Busy Workshop’
If you’re sick of everyone wearing the same H&M jumper as you, pick up something more exclusive at A Bathing Ape. All of its lines are produced in tiny quantities so stock runs out very quickly. This is its only outlet in Europe. In store soon, find Hawaiian style shirts made in collaboration with the artist KAWS, who has made his own interpretation of the trademark camouflage.
A Bathing Ape ‘Busy Workshop’, 4 Upper James St, W1 (020 7494 4924) Piccadilly Circus tube. Open Mon-Fri 11am-7pm, Sat 11am-6.30pm. Feature continues

    Dover Street Market
This eclectic ‘retail concept’ is packed with one-of-a-kind avant-garde fashion. Those in charge are working on several new collaborations with big names, including Ligia Dias (jewellery), Facai (knitwear) and Judy Blame (clothing/jewellery). They’ll be in store from July 20.
    Dover Street Market, 17-18 Dover St, W1 (020 7518 0680/www.doverstreetmarket.com) Green Park tube. Open Mon-Sat 10am-6pm, Thur until 7pm.

    DPMHI
An offshoot of the better known and celebrity-sported fashion label Maharishi, DPMHI stocks men’s and women’s clothes by sub-brand MHI, a more urban and graphical approach to the Maharishi theme. Collaborations in store include T-shirts from legendary ’80s New York graphic artist Futura 2000 and Zoltar (no longer the Magnificent – but still just as cool).
    DPMHI, 2-3 Great Pulteney St, W1 (020 7494 7550/www.dpmhi.com) Piccadilly Circus tube. Open Mon-Sat 10am-7pm, Sun 12noon-5pm.

    Evisu
Denim might not often be associated with Savile Row, but the prices here are about right. There are even suits, costing upwards of £650. Evisu’s boxed limited edition jeans (see right) are the hot ticket for aficionados because only 60 pairs have been made. Hence the rather terrifying £950 pricetag.
Evisu, 9 Savile Row, W1 (020 7292 0500/www.evisu.com) Green Park or Piccadilly Circus tube. Open Mon-Wed, Fri, Sat 10am-6pm, Thur 10am-7pm.

    Foot Patrol

This compact store stocks a superb selection of the most sought-after trainers. Check out the future projects section of its website to keep up to date with incoming stock, which includes exclusive World Cup-themed Nike Woven Footscapes (so you can support your team in style) and the Nike Macropus LC, a mid-boot style trainer made from high-quality leather with a thick white sole.
    Foot Patrol, 16a St Anne’s Court, W1 (020 7734 6625/www.foot-patrol.com) Oxford Circus tube. Open Mon-Fri 11am-7pm, Sat 11am-6.30pm.

    Hideout
With stock including Goodenough UK, Billionaire Boys Club and the highly sought-after Visvim this is one of the premier streetwear boutiques in the city. Good to buy now are the slick Visvim backpacks with elk-skin bottoms and the ultra-sharp but comfy moccasin-style shoes.
    Hideout, 7 Upper James St, W1(020 7437 4929) Piccadilly Circus tube. Open Mon-Sat 11am-7pm.

    Playlounge

If you haven’t got your mitts on a ‘Leon’ figure yet, you better get on the case. The 8" soft vinyl figures – made by UK designer James Jarvis and based on a real-life guy who works in the Stüssy shop in Covent Garden – have been storming out of the door of this limited-edition hotspot. Originally made in four colours (with only 150 units in each colour), they are now only available in yellow and blue (except for those selling for extortionate prices on eBay) so hurry before it’s too late.
    Playlounge, 19 Beak St, W1 (020 7287 7073/www.playlounge.co.uk) Piccadilly Circus or Oxford Circus tube. Open Mon-Sat 10.30am-7pm, Sun 12noon-5pm.

    Oki-Ni
This store pioneered the idea of designer collaborations and continually brings its discerning customers some of the most unique and covetable items around. There are some bargains to be had on limited edition trainers. Look out for hot upcoming projects with Lee jeans and Linda Farrow.
    Oki-Ni, 25 Savile Row, W1 (020 7494 1716/www.oki-ni.com) Oxford Circus tube. Open Mon-Sat 10am-6pm, Thur until 7pm.

    One
From retro-print wallpaper and individually crafted furniture to restored vintage clothing and accessories, you can be absolutely sure what you’re buying here is one of a kind. Also on display are legendary ’70s photographers’ iconic images of, among others, David Bowie, Iggy Pop and the Sex Pistols.
    One, 30 Ledbury Rd, W11 2AB (020 7221 5300/www.onlyone.com) Notting Hill Gate tube. Open Mon-Fri 10am-6pm, Sat 10am-6.30pm.
