    This high-street mainstay, known for its love of designer collaborations, started discounting at the end of Dec. With this being later than its competition, you can still enjoy large reductions without having to buy everything in lime green. Men can bag a massive 70 per cent off clothes: check out the J by Jasper Conran suit jacket (a bargain £27) or the printed T-shirts going for around £5.

    Dover Street Market

    This six-story concept store, designed by Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo, will be slashing 40-50 per cent off all its cutting-edge attire. As well as all things Comme, you’ll find quirky fashion from all the industry movers and shakers: Gareth Pugh, Christopher Kane and Raf Simons, to name but a few.

    Five floors of clothes, shoes, accessories and homewares will be going half price in this January sale. Labels on offer include Anna Sui, Betty Jackson and Paul & Joe, while the accessories department will definitely offer a bargain or two. Don’t miss the Jamin Puech bags all going at half price.

    Fortnum & Mason
    Sale on now until third week of Jan
    Still reeling from its £24 million refurb in ’07, this hotspot for old-school glamour will be offering discounts throughout the store.

    Elbow pads at the ready? This is the Bentley of January sales and if you can hack serious crowds, you’ll find bargains of 30-50 per cent on most the luxury goods inside. For men all Dolce & Gabbana, Armani and Hugo Boss will have 40 per cent off, while women can find half-price pieces from Marc by Marc Jacobs, Pucci, Tara Jarmon and much much more. Lots of Harrods cashmere will be also be half price, as will health/beauty products and toys.

    Sale starts Dec 27
    Harvey Nichols will be slashing all sale stock by 50 per cent. Women can pick up Stella McCartney jeans for a slightly more manageable £120 or a chiffon top by Alexander Wang for £105. Killer-heel fixes will come in the form of YSL, Jonathan Kelsey and Nicholas Kirkwood. While men can get their designer fill on the half price Alexander McQueen, Burberry and DSquared.

    Visit this clearance sale soon (offers will end in less than three weeks) to enjoy half-price reductions throughout the store. From electrical goodies to Egyptian cotton towels, you’ll find lots of quality home products with generous discounts. Failing that, there’s always the fashion and accessories section to amuse yourself in. Big names like Ted Baker, French Connection and Furla will be boasting big savings.

Starting early on Boxing Day, it will be worth sacrificing a day in front of the telly. Fashion lovers can pick up a floor-length, See by Chloé silk dress for £230, or an Alexis Bittar ring for £40. While Royal Crown Derby’s quaint tea cups and saucers will be shifting for £15.

    If you want really cheap0 stuff go Asda or Primark. Its crap but Ok for a time

    I will be in the UK for 4 weeks starting 16th Feb and as it is 40 degrees in Aus we do not have any winter clothing on sales so where can I buy some cheap jumpers and trousers to wear to keep warm
