Shoreditch stalwart Start brings a snippet of west London tailoring to the East End
Start’s Rivington Street empire has expanded to include a suits store. Nestled next to the two existing fashion boutiques run by Philip Start (founder of Woodhouse) and Brix Smith-Start (The Fall’s former guitarist), the new two-floor atelier brings a pinch of Savile Row to Shoreditch. ‘It’s a stylish shop where young guys can come for their first off-the-peg suit or a dandy can get one made to measure,’ says Philip. Mr Start’s signature styles – a slim fit and a classic three-piece – grace the rails next to suits by Balenciaga and Jill Sander with prices ranging from £550.
