I would reccomend the Vintage Venue in Wimbledon at Abbey Mills,
They have an excellent collection of mens & ladies wear that is in immaculate condition at great prices. Was quite refreshing to not see rip off prices like in alot of other vintage shops.

I agree with Charlie, this list is hardly representative of London's top Vintage store when Circa Vintage doesn't rate a mention. And on the same point where's Shikasuki? Those are the two best stores in this genre.
I guess 2009's review is overdue now, I hope that some new names make the list.

My friend is opening ADvintaged in the High Street in Wimbledon Village SW19 this month - planned to open to coincide with Wimbledon Tennis Fortnight.
Vintage clothing for women will span mainly 40's through late 60's. She is pretty fussy so has everything dry cleaned or laundered

Will they accept it there.? Will I get some money out of it ? Any information is useful !!! I would appriciate your help.

To answer E.W Jone's query. I have a friend who inherited her grandmothers mink coat. As she wasn't really in to animal coats either, she took the coat to a lady who made teddy bears. The family now has a family heirloom teddy bear. A little twee perhaps - but it hasn't wasted the little mink's life and is now a valued item in the family. Cheers, S

What do I do with a lovely 1970s short mink and brown leather quite retro jacket? Unfortunately, nothing will bring back those mink but the coat belongs to an era when we were less conscious of animal farming for clothing purposes. I hate to just throw it away. Does anyone deal in fur garments for export to countries without our sensibilities?

I have a fake fur threequarter coat worn by my late mother to a wedding in 1968. Would there be a market for it or is it destined for a charity shop? If there was an interest, what shops would be suitable.

Actually pops, the shop I recommended - Strut isn't very expensive, they aren't all - its a mixture, thats the whole point - You can buy a very fabulous chanel or some rather sylish Sixties trousers for much less, thats whats fun and thats what makes a good shop!
