  • No, not a place to pop out for late night pint of milk, but a brand new high-concept luxury fashion showroom in the shadow of west London’s Trellick Tower

  •  The_Con_Store.jpg
The brainchild of designer and consultant Andrew Ibi, the store echoes Ernö Goldfinger’s brutalist tower with severe styling (floor-to-ceiling concrete) and stocks limited numbers of pieces from some of today’s most progressive womenswear designers, including Rick Owens, Ann-Sofie Back and Gustavo Lins, Clare Tough, Hannah Marshall and Sophie Hulme. The Antwerp set is represented by Veronique Branquinho, AF Vandervorst and Christian Wijnants.

The autumn/winter ’08 story centres on ‘Hard Sculptured Edges with an Underlying Message of Social Defiance and Protection’. In short, strong shapes with clean lines like the Hannah Marshall sculpture dress, weatherproof outerwear such as the silver military parka by Sophie Hulme (£555) and leftfield design such as Camilla Skovgaard’s hair shoes, are worthy of a warrior princess. Think of the pieces as wearable art.
