Jo Lawbuary and Purnendu Roy source goods from local co-operatives and small-scale producers in India, Bangladesh and beyond, to ensure every item in their store is fairly traded. There’s a good selection of Fairtrade and recycled homewares (organic bedlinen; embroidered cushions from Bangladesh; lamps and colanders made from recycled tin; disposable leaf plates made from sali leaves from forests in India), as well as wallhangings and clothes and accessories, including attractive silk scarves, camel-wool hats, baby alpaca gloves, and a range of bags much from cotton, leather, and recycled rice sacks. Ganesha also offers a wedding list service. There’s now a branch in Covent Garden. Branch 38 King Street, WC2E 8JT (7240 8068).
