Gay's The Word

A well-established and well-run bookshop and community hub for lesbians and gay men in Dentral London. A wide range of material from the heavy academic tomes through fiction to pure frivolity. The staff are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Nearly 45 years old and still going strong. I thoroughly ecommend a visit!

An oasis of queer words, ideas and literature a stone's throw from the Brunswick Centre. Super-friendly, knowledgable staff, and check out the secondhand section! They also stock a hysterical range of postcards and greetings cards. I almost forgot: they regularly hold wonderfully intimate readings by authors and host the weekly lesbian discussion group. They do mail order. A London - no a national - institution. Long live GTW.

I just want to say Evrod needs to leave book shop staff alone

i found the staff handsome and helpful. i was in there once and a hot guy was playing a janis ians song and because of him i got into her and now have about three of her vinyls. thanks guy who ever u are. i have not been in a while but as suns out ill take a trip there soon and of course buy something and ogle the guys. lol
