Getting something repaired is always better than going on to buy a new one. Whether it furniture, electronic devices or even sports equipment, you can always find good repair service providers in town and save yourself the expense of buying new things.
Fifth Avenue Shoe Repairers are absolutely not to be recommended! They perform an incredibly poor service and are aggressive towards their customers who dare to complain, and to top it off they resort to verbal abuse. Shocking! They broke my watch and blamed it on me, and when I asked the owner just to look at it, he yelled at me saying "This is not America!", referring to my accent and refused any compensation, including the money I had paid for a battery, me left with the watch stuck at the wrong time and £18 poorer. Absolutely disgusted!
The Master Cobbler is not recommended. They told me I could get my shoes repaired for £25 each. Way to expensive for what I wanted to have done. Just 5 minutes walk from there I could get them repaired for £9 for both shoes, and they did an excellent job! I use my shoes everyday. And it also saved me £41! The staff at The Master Cobbler were very rude too.
@Madeleine Are you going to tell us what this apparently amazing other place is called? Not much good to anyone otherwise!
We have written to you several times over the years about possibly being placed in your list of shops but with no success. We've been going for about 15 years now and do have a good following of clients and our point of difference is the experience of the shop where we try to make the client feel like they are in a similar shop to the ones where they bought the item, rather than get changed under the stairs and get pinned in the shop window as in some many alteration places. Anyway if you could include us, we'\d appreciate it. Nicola Donati Tailoring www.nicoladonati.co.uk tel 0207 245 6414
Anyone know if it's even possible to take in a down coat? Looking for a good tailor or seamstress who is willing to perform without charging the Earth!
